The Humble Pie Co, located just near the famous Kanna Curry House is a wonderful place to satisfy that inner craving for a good sweet pie. Previously an online pastry & cake shop, it has now transform into a full fledged artisanal cafe with delicious pies and food as well! Clearly the pies here are the most popular item as they were constantly churned out fresh from the kitchen ready to be consumed by in-house customers or taken away. Dessert fans, beware.
Saturday brunches are one of my favorite things in the whole world. Being able to wake up slightly later than usual, dress up all nice and head out for an awesome brunch with the girlfriends :) My ideal everyday life really...... And that was what I did last Saturday with two close girlfriends:) It was a good opportunity to check out Epicuro, a cafe situated at Damansara Uptown which has been around for a while now since mid last year. It was a cold and rainy Saturday late morning and boy were we starving for good food! As usual guys, I'm always a 'let the pictures speak' kinda girl and it is what I emphasize here in my blog so..............let's go!
Seven Cups cafe, a simple and unassuming cafe situated quaintly within Empire Damansara. Come here for good ole' coffee, hot chocolate and cakes to satisfy your sweet tooth. I must say, this cafe is an absolutely perfect place to bring your laptop over to work/study because it isn't rowdy at all but rather peaceful and quiet during the weekdays (weekends may be busier). I dropped by on a Thursday evening and found myself along with two other girlfriends productively working away while sipping on flat white's and hot chocolate. A sort of 'workplace' cafe indeed :)
PCLO Cafe, a no frills straight up outdoor coffee joint hidden behind a relatively new Modvier boutique on Jalan Riong. Easy directions: Turn left right before Petronas station in Bangsar and the boutique is situated just on the right hand side of the 'dead end' road. A unique outdoor setting cafe currently run by barista Jeremy, this place is laid back and relax. Despite being outdoor, the place is relatively shady with just a nice amount of sunlight hitting every table. Things are kept airy with fans around so no worries:) I came over with a girlfriend to check things out and well.... we really like the place :)
Pulp cafe is definitely set to be a massive contender of 2014's nicest cafes. Situated at Jalan Riong near an old art-printing factory & storehouse, this cafe truly takes my breath away with its clean and pretty minimalist environment. You could hang out here for hours and not feel the time pass by. This place even have a standing bar for coffee drinkers who prefer to stand and chat while sipping away. I visited on a chilly rainy afternoon and was well greeted upon making my order at the counter by friendly servers, all smiles :) So, thumbs up!
Behold, Pulp Cafe guys! Family run cafe, Thirdwave is a simple fuss free eatery/cafe that can be found at Nexus, in Bangsar South that serves up pretty awesome meal deals all round, not to mention good coffee (Expect light roast coffee here). I dropped by around 2:30pm in the afternoon to fill my empty tummy up for lunch and let's just say that in the end, I was STUFFED. You'll see why :) The design in this cafe is kept to the minimal and offers a different ambience compared to the far too common sight of the industrial/ wood-ish/ rustic themes that you see in most cafes today. The cafe itself is very spacious with brightly lit bulbs all around & beautiful paintings displayed on the wall.
A hidden gem at The Club Bandar Utama, it's Roast FactorGlee! A quaint & all round rustic cafe that serves up delicious coffee, scrumptious dessert & all-day breakfast to fill up tummies! I popped by here on a sunny Saturday afternoon to try their weekend breakfast and also savor some house baked fresh scones :) But first, a look at this well designed & constructed cafe!
Frisky Goat Cafe & Bakery, a relatively new joint within TTDI that is gaining quick popularity amongst the community. It's no wonder, as they are whipping up some pretty drool worthy looking dishes with a combination of beautifully decorated interior and all round soft warm lighting that greets you as you come through the entrance.
To kick off my 'Cafe Series', here is Thursdvys Cafe located in TTDI which is pronounced as 'Thursdays' cafe. I decided to drop by on a Sunday and boy was it packed. TTDI is definitely one area booming with cafes and Thursdvys is definitely emerging as a strong contender. Without further ado, pictures!!!
There is something about visiting a new cafe that thrills me like no other. To experience a new environment, the cafe culture within and ultimately......no, not the coffee but rather the cakes/ desserts that they serve.
Confession, I have not been able to consume as much(in fact any amounts of) coffee now as I could previously due to health reasons and therefore with this new cafe series that I am starting, it will be slightly different than the usual cafe reviews out there. Well, thank god for hot chocolate then :) With this new cafe series, I will be emphasizing more into the deco and uniqueness of the cafe itself. Think of it as a sort of [Cafe x Photography] thing. Food and drinks would be featured with the exception of coffee reviews (as mentioned earlier about personal health concerns), unless I have someone else with me to try them! :) Nevertheless, am looking forward to sharing this new series and spreading the love for our budding cafe culture in Malaysia! Really hope to have your support by then & do stay tune for the next post guys! Love, EV |
